We create rooftop terraces and gardens under the name Dakterras.nl and are part of a building company, called Beemster Werklust. Named after the world heritage site the Beemster (where we come from), we believe in real craftsmanship combined with the most modern tools. We’re an efficient company, trying to keep the building time of your terrace as short as possible (average is 1 to 2 weeks). We’ve done over 350 project so far throughout the Netherlands. We are a full service roof terrace company so we can supply you with all the parts involved in a rooftop project. Normally we'll start with the permit that you almost always need if you want a roof terrace. We'll do all the contacts with the project partners, like the city, the welstandscommissie and if necessary Bureau Monumentenzorg. We'll make a set of technical drawings of the situation before and after, combined with a constructional engineering report this is the most important part of getting the permit. We'll fill in all the forms, deliver them at the right places and keep track of them! Typically, the local authority takes 3 to 6 months to grant the permit. After this we can start building the roof terrace. Most roofs are not strong enough to support the weight of a roof terrace and therefore will not be granted a permit without reinforcing the roof. So we’ll reinforce your roof by using our TerrasBox, which consists of steel supporting beams that are placed outside on your roof top. This is the base structure of the roof terrace. We've invented the TerrasBox together with TNO Bouw (TNO is an independent research organisation whose expertise and research make an important contribution to the competitiveness of companies and organisations, to the economy and to the quality of society as a whole). After this we'll place the entrance (a hatch, roof house or door), the stairs and of course the flooring and fencing. You can choose form several types of floors and fences (wood, aluminium, steel or glass). After the building process (taking 1 to 2 weeks) we can help you with the styling of your roof terrace. Would you like to have lights, a water tap, a shower or even a Spa? Do you need shade and what type of furniture are you gonna use? So, we can supply you with everything you need to get the best and most beautiful roof terrace, but all the different items can be chosen separately as well.
